I thought I would start by telling everyone a little about myself and what I've been through. I'm Jenna and that's me to the left sitting nicely while trying to talk Scott out of another one of those treats!
I'm a 18 month old Belgian Malanois who was rescued from a dog trainer in the Washington D.C. area.
My past is a little dicey... I was never fed properly so my teeth did not have a chance to fully develop. To make matters worse my original owner was trying to train me to do bite work and one day while biting I broke one of my teeth. It hurt and I decided right then I'm not going to do that anymore. Do you blame me? Well, my owner lost interest and wanted to find me a new home.
A Hampton Roads Working Dog Club took me in and finally started to take care of me but, they were looking for a dog that liked to bite. So, they wanted to find me the right home. That's when the guys from Tidewater K-9 Academy came by... and boy am I glad they did!
Mark Hackathorn, Ralph Zani and Scott Smith came by and we played a bit and then they put me in the truck and took me home! My head has been spinning ever since. I've met so many new people like Lori, Katrina and Mellissa who feed me and play with me. I met Becky the Groomer who gave me a much needed bath. I also met my new vet Dr. Salmon from Acredale who is really nice and has the best treats I have ever had the pleasure of sampling.
Scott and I are working together on my obedience training and we are going to experiment and find something I really like to do. We work together every day and I know he thinks he's in charge but, I've got him figured out. He's like my own personal treat dispenser!
Comment if you'd like or better yet come train with me. I usually show up during group classes and I'd love to meet you. Group classes are flexible so you can come by whenever it fits your schedule.
